It amazes me that sooo many people subscribe to the Republican / Tea Party positions knowing that they are in favor of big business, banks, and low taxes on the wealthy. These are the same people that will be hurt by the Republican positions.

Do they think they will become wealthy by spewing elitist philosophy while they see their Social Security and Medicare disappear?

"Calling" yourself a Republican does not bring wealth. It merely shows that you are willing to blindly follow without thinking.

We need to eliminate the copper penny to save billions of dollars for America. It costs nearly 2 cents to make a 1 cent coin due to the copper costs. China is melting the coin as quickly as we can make it...aren't we stupid? It is no wonder nine more copper mines are being added to the existing 12 copper mines in Arizona. The 10,000 Arizona copper miners and townspeople near the Arizona mines get cancer four times higher than the norm. The mines produce toxic waste, which is poured back into the water table and make giant green mountains of non-life sustaining land...aren't we stupid? People use the dollar bill, but a dollar coin should be introduced because coins last longer than paper money. A dollar coin is cheaper to make than the paper money. This extra cost of the dollar coin can be offset by eliminating the penny production. In time, vending machines will convert to accepting dollar coins, because a coin-accepting machine is less expensive. Finally, I am sick and tired of putting my dollar bill into a machine and it is rejected. Great job Arky on your blog.

Editor's note: I will not walk around with a pocketful of dollar coins, given to me as change from a machine. Pennies go into a separate jar, for bargaining when the Chinese supposedly come over to claim our land in return for a paper obligation of U.S. debt. Instead of eliminating the dollar bill, why not eliminate the legislators, saving the taxpayers much more money?
